About SnowBern Bernese

ABOUT US
We live along the foothills of the East Slopes of the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Water Valley, Alberta.
Our acreage is ideal for Berners to roll in the snow (or mud) and enjoy the wildlife that frequent the area.
We got our first Bernese Mountain Dog Kali in 2011 and instantly fell in love with this special breed. Four years later we added our first DoubleDutch Berner Kenobi. We also have been fortunate enough to welcome two more DoubleDutch Berners into our lives and home, first Leia, and most recently Amilyn.
We continue to work with our dogs in multiple dog sports including drafting, rally obedience, obedience, dog dancing, conformation, tricks, and therapy work. We enjoy the social aspects, meeting other like-minded dog lovers, and spending time bonding with our fantastic dogs. We also spend lots of time in public spaces and places to ensure and encourage socialization to promote a well adjusted, well tempered family member. Our dogs live with us in our home (the vacuum gets a regular workout) and are an important part of our family.
As we embark on this new adventure of breeding CKC registered Bernese Mountain Dogs, we are dedicated to working to the breed standards to better the health, wellness, and longevity of these amazing dogs. We start this by ensuring we complete all BMDCC health testing recommendations/requirements. We will also ensure that any dog we breed to also follows these stringent guidelines and match to compliment our girls.
Thank you to our amazing support team of breeders and friends, we are so fortunate to have you in our corner.
A special thank you to Dave and Bernadette van Klaveren from Cedar BC of DoubleDutch Bernese. Your continued support, guidance, and mentorship is appreciated more than you can ever know. Thank you for entrusting us with three of your amazing dogs, two of which will be the foundation of our breeding program.
A huge thanks and shout out to Denise Newlove of Nitroberner Bernese for your ongoing enthusiastic support, guidance, and mentorship. Your honesty and genuine nature are much appreciated.
Many thanks to Lou Smith and Liz Moran of Sennenridge Bernese for believing in us and letting us start our breeding program with your amazing boy Rijker as our first sire.
